Free Methods to Drive Traffic to your Website
How To Drive Free Traffic To Your Website
What I love about YouTube and forums is that I consistently get passive traffic from both of those sources day and night. To be honest, once you start doing YouTube and Forums marketing for 60 days straight, you will continue to get passive traffic and sales without doing anything.
There are two other free traffic methods I will go over, which are Facebook and Twitter. These sites will help you build your brand which, will increase your exposure and earnings potential.
YouTube
YouTube is my favorite source of free traffic and it is the best way to get a consistent stream of passive traffic to your website. If there is one free traffic method that I recommend you put most of your effort into it is definitely YouTube. What you want to do is brand yourself using YouTube. You can either brand your name, brand your website, or brand both your name and website.
So, here is how you can generate thousands of visitors to your website using YouTube.
Creating Your Channel
First, you're going to create a new YouTube account and setup a YouTube channel. Then you're going to give your YouTube channel a catchy name that is related to your niche. You can also name your channel with the same name you chose for your domain. So for example, if I was in the hair loss niche, I would name my channel something like, Treys Hair Loss Tips, or Hair Loss TV. You can get creative or you can simply put your actual name or a pen name as your channel.
What Does Your Target Audience Want
Before you start making videos it is important to know what videos your audience wants to see. So, what I recommend you do is type your niche into the YouTube search bar and watch a couple videos and also look at some of the titles they use for their videos.Organize Your Videos
Once you create your channel you have to decide how you're going to setup the release of your videos. In other words you don't want to create a bunch of videos and upload them randomly or in bulk. You want to have a specific schedule for releasing your videos. Your first video on your channel should explain who you are and how you're going to help people in your particular niche. You also want to tell your visitors the frequency in which you will upload videos.
I recommend that you upload 1 video a day when you're getting started so you can get the momentum rolling. Then once you get a hang of it you can decide if you want to increase the frequency of videos or increase the quality of videos, or increase both.
When I got started with YouTube I went all out and created 2-3 videos for my channel for 30 days straight and now I get hundreds of visitors every week without lifting a finger.
Money or Time
If you have money, you can get away with making one video a week as long as you have the money to build back links to your videos and send views and likes to your videos. The whole point of building back links to your videos is to help your video move to the top of the search rankings on YouTube and Google. The higher you rank the more traffic you will get to your video. You can rank highly in the search engines without building lots of back links but, you have to make sure you choose keywords that aren't very competitive.
Forums
This is another free method I use to generate some targeted traffic. All you have to do is go to Google.com and type in your niche followed by the word “forum”. For example, if my niche was “hair loss” I would type “hair loss forum” into the Google search bar. Then, when the results come back I would choose 1-3 forums that have a good amount of traffic and activity going on in the forum. It is also important to make sure that the forums allow signatures. If you can't have a signature with your website in it then there is no point in signing up to the forum. Some forums may require you to participate before you can have a signature and that is fine, but if the forum doesn't allow signatures at all, then don't waste your time signing up.
So, what you need to do is sign up to the forums that allow signatures and choose a username that will help brand your name and/or your company.
Making Posts
Once you're signed up to 1-3 forums, you need to start posting. I recommend you make 5 posts per day. Don't go over 5 posts per day because it will look like you're spamming. When you reach around 100 posts then you can post however many times you want but, in the beginning limit your posts to 5 per day.
Make sure your posts are helpful and understandable. The whole point of signing up to forums is to get targeted traffic back to your website. If you make stupid posts that don't make any sense then nobody is going to want to visit your website and some people might ignore your posts.
Posting Threads
Once in awhile it is good to start a helpful thread. If you have some information you want to contribute to the forum then go ahead and start a thread. What I like to do is look at some of the threads that have the most activity and views. Then, I begin to figure out why the thread has so many views. Once, I figure out why the thread has lots of views I try to create an original thread that has equal or more value to the thread that I chose. So for example, if somebody wrote a thread that said “The reason why your hair keeps falling out” then I might create a thread that says, “The secret I use to prevent hair loss”. If you compare the title of my thread to the title of the other thread you may notice that my title is more compelling, and I'm willing to bet that most people will click my thread over the other thread just based on the title.
Signatures
The most important part of forum marketing is your signature. Your signature needs to be an attention grabber. You can be creative in your signature but just make sure you have a link to your website so that everyone who sees your signature can check out your website and sign up to your list.
Creating A Facebook Page
Creating a Facebook Page is pretty simple. Just go to Google.com and type in “facebook page” and then click the first option that should say “Create a Page” and then you will be sent to the Facebook page creation website.Your next step is to click “Get Started” to continue the process. From then on you just need to follow the directions and you should have your Facebook page up in a matter of minutes. If you get stuck on creating your Facebook page you can find tons of tutorials on YouTube.
After you create your Facebook Page your next step is to promote it. You can promote your website for free using this method or you can promote your website you using Facebook ads.
The best free way to promote the Facebook page is by sending an email to the subscribers about your page. This is a very simple but effective way to increase the likes on your Facebook page, without spending money or spamming Facebook groups.
As a conclusion every time you make a YouTube video make sure you post it on your Facebook page. You can also post articles or anything related to your niche on your Facebook page.
You can easily setup a Twitter page in a matter of minutes. I'm not going to go over the sign up process because it is pretty self explanatory. Just go to Twitter.com and create a new account. You can name your twitter with your actual name, a pen name, or the name of your website.
Customize your profile to make it suit your niche and then you're ready to start getting followers.
Getting Followers
You can get followers on Twitter by typing your niche into the search bar on Twitter. For example, if you were in the fat loss niche then you would type in “lose weight” or “how to lose weight” in the search bar.Tweets from other people that have an interest in losing weight will show up on the screen and you can reply to these tweets. You can reply to them with an answer to their question or a comment related to what they're talking about.
Another way you can get followers is by setting up an email in your autoresponder that informs your subscriber that you have a Twitter page where they can reach you. You can send one email to your subscribers that tells them to follow you on Twitter, subscribe to your Youtube channel, and like your Facebook page.
