Twitter Multi Profile Optimization To Boost Sales
Twitter Multi Profile Optimization To Boost Sales & Traffic
One of the biggest misconceptions when it comes to twitter is that one should have one and only one twitter profile. This is borne out of the notion that you are one person, and hence you only need one profile.
The problem with that thinking from an internet marketing perspective is that one twitter profile groups all your tweets together. You need to remember that although you are one person, you wear ‘multiple’ hats.
You might be engaged in different niches for example. If you promote products in:
➤ Make Money Online Niche
➤ Golf Niche
➤ Weight Loss Niche
➤ Dating Niche
➤ Singing Niche
Then you will be forced to tweet on all of these diverse topics via your single twitter stream. This means that people who follow you for ‘weight loss tips’ will also receive tweets on dating, golf, singing and make money online. Things they have no internet in whatsoever.
When people start receiving tweets for content that has no value or interest to them, they will stop following you.
Another key reason for the need for multiple twitter accounts, is ‘optimization’. In many way I treat twitter like I do Google i.e. I’m always optimizing keywords to drive the maximum traffic to my profiles.
You see many people use the twitter search feature to find information. This search feature spider crawls the entire twitter site, and indexes profiles based on keywords contained within the content. Elements such as your ‘username’, ‘tweets’ and ‘bio’ are all considered for indexing purposes.
If I am engaged in multiple niches then I need multiple twitter profiles. Furthermore even within a single niche, I will have multiple twitter accounts dedicated to that niche.
For example for my ‘golf’ niche I will have:
My twitter account which I use solely to stay tuned to people whose tweets I want to read. These are ‘key influencers’ within the niche who are at the forefront of ‘cutting edge’ information and news. This twitter account is not really for branding purposes and I will have only a small number of people that I will be following. As a result it will have few followers.
I then have multiple branded profiles keyword optimized for sub niches. So taking the ‘golf’ niche I would have accounts for ‘putting tips’, ‘driving tips’, ‘golf equipment’, ‘golf mindset’ etc. These profiles would be keyword optimized specifically for these terms.
I will now walk you through the process of optimizing a profile using the ‘dog training’ niche as our example.
➤ Start out with your primary niche in mind, in this instance ‘dog training’. Instead of deriving long tail keyword phrases that are less competitive, we will be using the primary term to pepper through out our profile.
➤ So click on twitter.com and click on ‘Create an account’. Sign up with a keyword rich username, first name, surname and description.
Say for example your niche is dog training. Then you should put ‘Dog Training’ as your full name. Try and incorporate your primary keywords in your username also. You will certainly be able to use your keyword phrases in the ‘Full Name’ field, however most likely the Username version will be taken. For that reason it is ok to add a number or letter to the end of the phrase – in this instance DogTrainingTip9.
The reason why we want our username and full name to contain our primary keywords, is because internet marketers find people within their niche using the ‘Search’ feature on twitter. They will inevitably search by keyword phrases, and you want them to be able to find you.
Step 2: Complete Your Profile
I advocate that you upload a profile photo that is directly relevant to your niche. In this case I would upload an image of a dog. This ‘thumbnail’ optimization increases the likelihood that your target market will click on your profile on the search page. This alone will send you free automated traffic.
The above profile is a good example of a well optimized twitter profile. They have an image of a dog set as their profile image / avatar. They also have their primary keywords embedded as their Username. The ‘Bio’ description could have been better utilized from a ‘dog training’ or ‘dog training videos’ perspective.
I’m not saying that your create a new twitter profile for every keyword phrase for every niche. I’m merely saying that you create one primary profile per niche, and they create several further profile for the most popular keywords (sub niches) within that niche.
This will drive considerably more traffic to your brand via the twitter search feature, and boost your followers, traffic and sales on autopilot.
